In Cappagh Parish the Stage III preparations took the form of four Reflections Evenings on Tuesdays, in St Mary’s Church, Killyclogher, at 8pm. Each evening was hosted by young people from the parish who are involved in the Pope John Paul II Awards Programme. The evenings lasted approx 40mins with a local guest speaker each evening, and tea/coffee served afterwards. The Church was beautifully prepared each evening with special lighting and displays.

The final Reflection Evening focused on the Doxology: Through him, and with him, and in him....; and the Great AMEN! – our response to God. Here we reflected on our commitment to God, the commitment which began at the Baptismal Font when the ‘water of life’ was poured onto us. The Pope John Paul II Award participants were joined by two young parishioners who had attended World Youth Day in Madrid earlier this year, Brenda Mullen and Padraig O’Neill. Brenda introduced the evening and Padraig shared with us his beautiful and inspiring personal experience of how faith had been handed on to him through his family.
